Among Us 3D Crossplay – Everything You Need to Know

Among Us is back, but not in the way you might expect. Instead of another update to the classic 2D version, we’re getting Among Us 3D, a full-blown first-person reimagining of the game we all know and love. Think of it as the same old social deduction chaos, but now with full 3D movement, immersive environments, and a much closer look at those suspicious crewmates. And with Among Us 3D crossplay in the mix, it’s shaping up to be a game you can enjoy with just about anyone, no matter what they’re playing on.

For someone who’s played the original for hours with friends, this new version feels like a fresh and exciting take. Among Us 3D was originally released as a VR-only game, but the big news? It’s now coming to PC as a non-VR game and yes, Among Us 3D crossplay is fully supported between PC and all current VR platforms, making it easier than ever to team up (or betray) friends across devices.

|What Platforms Will Among Us 3D Be On?

Among Us 3D is releasing for:

  • PC (via Steam) – no VR headset required

  • Meta Quest (VR)

  • SteamVR

  • PlayStation VR2

  • PICO (VR)

This version of the game will not be compatible with the original 2D Among Us, as the gameplay and mechanics are totally different. So don’t expect to match up with friends still playing the old-school version on mobile or console.

|Is Among Us 3d Crossplatform – How It Works

Cross-platform play is a big part of Among Us 3D’s appeal. If you’re playing on a PC without a VR headset, you’ll still be able to hop into matches with friends using Meta Quest, PS VR2, or other supported VR devices. The team at Innersloth has made sure that both PC and VR players can interact seamlessly, despite using very different controls.

That means no one is left out, whether you’re exploring The Skeld in full 360° with a headset or sitting comfortably at your desk with a mouse and keyboard, you’re all in the same lobby.

|What’s New in Among Us 3D?

If you’ve only played the 2D version, get ready for a major change in perspective, literally. Among Us 3D takes the traditional tasks, sabotage, and emergency meetings and puts you in a fully explorable 3D space. It feels way more immersive and, frankly, a little scarier when you’re wandering down a hallway and someone’s footsteps suddenly fall in behind you.

The tasks are now interactive in first-person, and the kill animations? Way more dramatic in 3D.

There are also new voice proximity features, which make the game feel even more social. Whispering to a crewmate while sneaking away from a scene adds a whole new layer of paranoia and strategy.

|What’s Next?

Innersloth has confirmed a full roadmap for Among Us 3D in 2025. That means more maps, more customization options, and new features tailored specifically for the 3D format. It’s clear the devs aren’t treating this as a one-off version—they’re building a full-fledged experience to stand alongside (but separate from) the 2D original.

Among Us 3D crossplay is a big deal for fans who’ve wanted a new way to experience the game without being locked into VR. Whether you’re playing in a headset or just using your PC, it looks like we’re all going to be sus together—again.
