Days Gone Xbox: Is it Happening?
Is days gone xbox happening? If you’re on Xbox wondering if you can finally play Days Gone on your console, here’s the deal, it’s still not available on Xbox. This open-world, post apocalyptic action-adventure game by Bend Studio has been a Playstation exclusive since its release in April 2019. Later in May 2021, it made its way to PC, giving non-PlayStation players a taste of its brutal, zombie-infested world. But for Xbox users? It’s still out of reach.
|Why Days Gone Isn’t on Xbox
The main reason is pretty straightforward: Days Gone is a first-party title published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Sony has a history of keeping its big titles exclusive to its platforms, that’s part of how they sell PlayStations. Days Gone was developed by Bend Studio, a Sony-owned studio, which means they have no incentive to release it on Xbox. So, unless something major changes in sony’s strategy, Days Gone coming to Xbox is highly unlikely.
|What About Days Gone Remastered?
You might have heard about Days Gone Remastered. This enhanced version was released in April 2025 for PS5 and PC. It brings improved graphics, faster loading times, and some extra gameplay tweaks, making the experience smoother and better looking. Unfortunately, this remastered version is also not coming to Xbox. Sony has kept it strictly to its ecosystem, PlayStation and PC.

|But Can You Play Days Gone on Xbox in Any Way?
Technically, yes, but not directly. Some Xbox players have found a workaround using cloud gaming services. Platforms like Boosteroid let you stream Days Gone on your Xbox via a browser. However, this isn’t the same as playing on your console. The experience can vary depending on your internet connection, and you won’t get the full console quality experience that you would get on playstation or PC.
|Will Days Gone Ever Come to Xbox?
Honestly, it’s not looking good. Sony’s strategy has always been to keep its first-party titles on its own platforms to boost playstation sales. While they have been more open to releasing games on PC in recent years, they have shown no interest in sharing them with Xbox. Some playstation exclusives, like Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War, have made the leap to PC, but they’ve never crossed over to Xbox.
|Why Days Gone is Still Worth Playing (If You Can)
If you’ve got a Playstation or a decent PC, Days Gone is totally worth checking out. It’s this open world adventure set in a post-apocalyptic Oregon, where you step into the boots of Deacon St. John, a drifter and bounty hunter just trying to survive. The world’s a complete mess, crawling with zombie like Freakers that can swarm you in seconds, and if they don’t get you, the human bandits probably will. It’s a brutal, dangerous place, but that’s what makes exploring it so intense.
The bike mechanic is a standout feature, turning Deacon’s motorcycle into both a crucial survival tool and a personal escape from the chaos. Plus, the game’s story has some genuinely emotional moments as you learn more about Deacon’s past.
In 2025, Days Gone is still not on Xbox, and there are no signs that it will ever be. But if you have a PC or a PlayStation, you’re in luck, you can still jump into this brutal, beautiful world. For Xbox users, though, it’s a waiting game that may never end.
