Dead by Daylight is one of those games that just makes you a addict. you play around as a survivor or going full slasher mode as the killer, every match feels like a new story. Sometimes it’s pure chaos, other times it’s this nerve-wracking cat-and-mouse game, but it’s always a thrill. What I really like is how the game keeps things fresh with new killers and survivors, especially when they bring in characters from classic horror movies or even anime. The devs have done a great job in keeping the game fresh after all these years. It’s just a fun, spooky ride that never gets old. Which might make you wonder about the dead by daylight crossplay feature.

Dead by Daylight has evolved significantly over the years, and one of its most important features is crossplay. The horror game now allows players across multiple platforms to play together, making it much easier to connect with friends and expand the player pool whether you’re surviving or hunting. Let’s break it all down.

|So, is Dead by Daylight Crossplay?

Yes! Dead by Daylight fully supports crossplay across PC (Steam, Epic, Windows), PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. That means you and your friends can now team up or face off no matter where you’re playing.

This feature has been around since 2020, but if you’re just jumping back into the fog, it might be news to you. Crossplay is enabled by default, so you don’t even have to do much to get started. Just hop into the game, and the matchmaking pool is automatically expanded to include players from all supported platforms.

|How Do You Add Friends from Other Platforms?

With crossplay came a new in-game friends list system called Cross-Friends. You’ll need to use this to add friends from other platforms.

Here’s how:

  • Go to the Friends tab in the main menu.

  • Search for your friend’s Dead by Daylight username (not their PlayStation/Xbox/Steam ID).

  • Send the friend request. Once they accept, you can invite them to your lobby.

It’s simple and honestly, a feature that should have existed from day one.

|What About Cross-Progression?

Crossplay is awesome, but cross-progression is the icing on the cake.

Yes, Dead by Daylight supports cross-progression, but with some caveats.

Currently, cross-progression is available between Steam, Epic Games, and the Windows Store versions of the game. That means your bloodpoints, purchased cosmetics, unlocked killers/survivors, and other progress can carry over between those platforms. Just link your accounts via Behaviour’s official website and you’re good to go.

As for PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch, cross-progression isn’t supported between those consoles and PC, which is a bit of a bummer. Behaviour has said it’s something they’re still looking into, but due to how platform policies and store systems work, it’s not a simple switch to flip.

|Can I Disable Crossplay?

Yup, if for whatever reason you’d rather not play with people on other platforms (maybe you’re tired of those cracked PC killers), you can turn crossplay off in the settings.

Here’s how:

  1. Open Settings from the main menu.

  2. Go to the Online tab.

  3. Toggle Crossplay off.

Just keep in mind that this might increase matchmaking times, especially if you’re on a less-populated platform.
