Delta Force PS5 Release Delayed: Here’s What’s Coming Next
One of the biggest new Steam shooters of 2025 so far, the next chapter of Delta Force will soon go live. The game is making a massive comeback and Delta Force PS5 is part of the hype. If you’ve been around since the OG tactical shooter days, you probably remember how this series set the standard for realistic, team-based combat. Now, in 2025, it’s getting a serious upgrade, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting FPS titles on the horizon.
This isn’t just another reboot, it’s a full-blown reinvention.
|So, What’s the Game All About?
Delta Force is going full modern tactical warfare. Picture this: massive 32v32 battles, special operations with high-stakes extraction missions, and even a full-blown campaign inspired by the legendary Black Hawk Down movie. Yep, you read that right. It’s built in Unreal Engine 5, so everything looks stunningly realistic, from the heat shimmer on desert roads to the detailed interiors of choppers and compounds.
You’re not just another soldier. You’re an operator, and you get to pick your class, kit out your weapons, and dive into various modes that all bring a unique spin on tactical gameplay.
|PS5 & Xbox – Console Players, Rejoice
Originally planned for early 2025, the PS5 release of Delta Force has been officially scheduled for December 31, 2025. Don’t stress though, it’s just to ensure that gameplay on console is as smooth and immersive as it is on PC. Developers are fine-tuning everything from controller response to HUD optimization so that when it finally launches, console players will get the best possible experience.
Xbox Version?
Absolutely happening. Delta Force will be launching on Xbox Series X|S and likely Xbox One as well. No confirmed date just yet, but expect it to drop sometime in 2025 alongside the Delta force PS5.
|What’s New on PC and Mobile?
The Black Hawk Down campaign is live on PC as of January 20–21, 2025
Mobile versions launched globally on April 21, 2025
PC has received Season 2 updates: kill cam, night modes, gear caps, bug fixes, and framerate boosts
|Game Modes That Hit Different
Let’s talk modes:
Havoc Warfare: Full-scale PvP chaos. 32 vs. 32. Ground vehicles. Helicopters. Strategic capture points. It’s the most “military-sim meets FPS fun” thing we’ve seen in years.
Hazard Operations: Think high-intensity missions with PvPvE mechanics. You drop in with a squad, complete tasks, loot rare gear, and extract before it all goes sideways. If you die? You lose it all. Tense, right?
Classic Campaign: Yep, they’re bringing back a single-player/co-op campaign inspired by Black Hawk Down. It’s not just a throwback, it’s a full reimagining with modern graphics and better AI. Perfect for those who miss old-school military shooters with a strong narrative.

|Loadouts, Classes & Cross-Play
There are five operator classes, each with its own strengths. Whether you like sniping from the hills, tanking through chokepoints, or supporting the squad, there’s a role that fits your playstyle.
Weapons? Fully customizable. Scopes, barrels, grips, cosmetics, you name it.
Cross-play is already confirmed and currently active on supported platforms (like PC). Console cross-play, including PS5 and Xbox, will be enabled once those versions launch. So while you can’t squad up across console and PC just yet, it’s definitely on the roadmap.
|Why You Should Be Hyped
Delta Force isn’t just banking on nostalgia, it’s delivering modern gameplay wrapped in tactical depth. It feels like a mix of Battlefield’s chaos, Escape from Tarkov’s intensity, and Call of Duty’s polish, but with its own identity and pacing.
Whether you’re a hardcore FPS player or someone looking for a team-based shooter with more brains than bullets, Delta Force is definitely worth keeping on your radar.
Delta Force is shaping up to be a game-changer. Whether you’re jumping in on PS5, Xbox, or PC, one thing’s for sure, this is going to be a ride.
