Hades 2 Console: Coming First to Nintendo Switch 2

Okay, folks, it’s official. Hades 2 console version is on the way, and if you loved the first game, you’re going to lose your mind over this one. It’s like the perfect sequel to what we already know, but it takes everything to the next level. And here’s the kicker: it’s dropping exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025. Yep, you heard me right, exclusive to the new Switch.

|Switch 2 Is the Perfect Home for Hades II

Now here’s the big news, Hades 2 is launching exclusively on Switch 2. If you’ve been eyeing that shiny new console, this is the game to get. The power of Switch 2 means you’re getting smooth-as-butter 60fps, stunning graphics, and all the fast-paced action we know and love from Hades. I mean, it’s going to run like a dream. But if you’re not quite ready to upgrade to the Switch 2 yet, don’t sweat it, the game is eventually coming to the older Switch as well. Just hang tight for a bit longer on that front.

|What’s New in Hades II?

Alright, so let’s get to the juicy stuff, what’s actually new in Hades II that’s got me hyped? First off, we’ve got a new protagonist, Princess Melinoë. She’s got her own set of powers, weapons, and strategies, and that alone is enough to make the game feel fresh.

Then there’s the world of the Underworld itself. Hades 2 introduces brand-new realms like Erebus and Oceanus. Every corner of this new Underworld feels rich with mythology and is just begging to be explored. And, of course, the combat is still tight and brutal, but with way more ways to customize your skills, abilities, and weapons. For me, that’s what’s going to make this game feel like a true upgrade.

And let’s talk about the visuals for a second. Unreal Engine 5 is bringing this game to life in ways that are seriously going to blow you away. It’s not just about looking pretty, it’s about immersing you in the world so completely that you forget you’re even playing a game.

|PS5 & Xbox Versions – What’s the Deal?

So, if you’re sitting there thinking, “But what about PS5 or Xbox? When’s it coming?” Well, here’s the scoop: Hades 2 console ver. was initially slated for PS5 early in 2025, but it’s been delayed. Don’t freak out though! The delay is actually a good thing, this way, they can make sure the console experience is as polished as possible. We’ll be getting the PS5 version sometime in 2025, just a little later than expected.

And for all Xbox players out there, it’s coming to Xbox Series X|S too. No official dates yet, but it should drop around the same time as PS5.

|Crossplay – What’s the Situation?

One thing I absolutely love in modern games is crossplay. It just makes life so much easier when you can play with friends, no matter what platform they’re on. Hades 2 already supports crossplay between PC and mobile, which is fantastic. As for consoles, there’s no word yet on crossplay between Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox, but fingers crossed we’ll see that in the future.

If you loved Hades, you know exactly what kind of experience you’re in for. You’ve got a brand-new character, new powers, and an expanded world to explore. The combat feels even more fluid and strategic. Plus, the visuals are going to be jaw-droppingly beautiful.

I’m pretty stoked about Hades II. The fact that it’s coming exclusively to Switch 2 first just makes it even more exciting. Whether you’re already planning on getting the new Switch, or you’re just waiting for it to drop on PS5 or Xbox, this is going to be one of the biggest games of 2025.

If you’re ready to dive back into the Underworld with a whole new perspective, Hades II is going to be the game you won’t want to miss.
