How to Get Rich Soil in Dreamlight Valley

If you’ve been running around Disney Dreamlight Valley trying to complete Scar’s “Nature and Nurture” quest, there’s a good chance you’ve hit a wall trying to collect Rich Soil. It’s one of those materials that seems simple until you actually try to get some.

So if you’re stuck or just want to speed things up, here’s everything I’ve learned about Rich Soil, including the fastest way to farm it without losing your mind.

|What Even Is Rich Soil?

Rich Soil is a special crafting material you’ll need during certain quests and for making items like the Miracle Growth Elixir. It’s not something you can just buy or dig up. You have to harvest crops and even then there’s only a small chance you’ll get it.

When it drops, it shoots out of the harvested crop and lands nearby. It’s easy to miss if you’re not paying attention so keep an eye out for it when you’re gathering.

|The Trick to Farming Rich Soil Fast

Technically you can get Rich Soil from any crop whether it’s tomatoes, carrots, corn or anything else. But if you want to save time and energy the best option is wheat.

Here’s why wheat is your best bet

• It grows in 1 minute

• It’s super cheap at just 1 Star Coin per seed from Goofy’s Stall in Peaceful Meadow

• You can plant a bunch at once and get through harvests quickly

What I did and what I’d recommend is buy a ton of wheat seeds, prep a big area to plant them, and just keep planting, watering, and harvesting in cycles. It might not be exciting but it works.

If you bring along a character with the Gardening bonus, you can also speed up the harvesting process. It might not directly increase Rich Soil drops but it helps you get through crops faster.

|Why You’ll Want to Stock Up

Right now Rich Soil is mainly used for Scar’s quest and crafting the Miracle Growth Elixir. But let’s be honest, Dreamlight Valley often adds surprises in updates so it’s a smart idea to have some extra Rich Soil stored just in case a future quest asks for it too.

You don’t want to be scrambling for it later.

Farming Rich Soil can feel like a bit of a grind since it all depends on luck but using the wheat trick makes it way easier. Put on some music or a podcast, relax and harvest away. Before you know it you’ll have more Rich Soil than you need.
