Oblivion Remaster Is Finally Here And It Looks Amazing
The Elder Scrolls 6: Oblivion remaster probably left a permanent mark on your gaming brain. It was the first game that truly made me feel like I was living inside a fantasy world, wandering through forests, joining guilds, and getting completely sidetracked by every weird side quest. And now, in 2025, Bethesda has officially brought it back with a full remaster, and it’s genuinely impressive.
This isn’t just a basic upscale. Oblivion remake has been built in Unreal Engine 5, and the results are stunning. The world of Cyrodiil feels more alive than ever. There’s better lighting, smoother animations, and a lot more detail in everything from character faces to castle walls. It still feels like Oblivion, quirky NPCs and all, but polished up for a modern audience.
|What’s Actually New?
Aside from the gorgeous visuals, they’ve made some smart gameplay tweaks. The UI has been modernized so it’s less clunky, and the leveling system is a bit more forgiving (without totally abandoning its old-school charm). They’ve even re-recorded some dialogue and remixed the music to sound richer.
And yes, it includes all the original expansions like Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine. So you’re not just getting the base game, you’re getting the full experience.

|Oblivion Remaster PS5?
If you’re playing on PlayStation 5, you’re in for a treat. The game runs super smooth, looks fantastic on a big screen, and the controls feel way better than I expected for a game that originally came out in 2006. You can grab it digitally on the PlayStation Store right now.
There’s no word yet on a physical edition, but considering the hype, I wouldn’t be surprised if one drops later this year.
If you’ve never played Oblivion before, this is the best way to do it. And if you’re a returning fan like me, it’s kind of surreal to see how far the game has come. It’s like catching up with an old friend who’s had a major glow-up.
This remaster isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel, it’s just giving a beloved classic the attention it deserves.
