Rematch Game: The Football Brawler That’s Pure Chaos

If you’re even a little bit into football games, you’ve probably been bouncing between FIFA (now EA FC), PES, and maybe even Rocket League for a more arcade-like vibe. But what if there was a game that blended that tight, fast-paced arcade energy with actual human players and some seriously slick movement mechanics? That’s exactly what Rematch game is doing, and trust me, it looks seriously fun.

|So… What Is Rematch?

Rematch is a brand-new 5v5 arcade-style football game being developed by Sloclap, yep, the same team that made Sifu and Absolver. But instead of kung-fu or dueling, they’ve set their sights on the football pitch. And not your typical 11-a-side setup either, this is tight, intense, five-a-side action where every move counts.

What makes Rematch different is that you control just one player, third-person style. No switching between the whole team, this is all about you, your skills, and how you play alongside your squad. The camera sits just behind your character, so you’re seeing the field like you’re actually on it.

This isn’t a sim. There are no offsides, no fouls, and honestly? No time for slow plays either. Rematch is fast-paced, movement-focused, and designed to feel like an intense multiplayer battle with a football in the middle.

You’ll need to manage stamina, position yourself smartly, and think on your feet. It kind of feels like Rocket League meets Street Football, but with actual humans doing the moves.

|Customization and Inclusivity

One of the coolest things about Rematch is how much love it’s showing to inclusivity. You’ll be able to customize your player with different appearances, including prosthetic limbs and visible skin conditions like vitiligo. Representation matters, and Sloclap is doing a great job making sure players feel seen.

The art style is colorful, stylized, and super clean, it’s not aiming for hyper-realism, and honestly, that’s refreshing. It’s more expressive and cartoony in a way that suits the gameplay’s high energy.

|Game Modes? You Bet.

When it launches, Rematch is set to include:

  • 3v3 and 4v4 casual modes.

  • 5v5 ranked matches.

  • Open beta to let players test the game and give feedback before release.

The game is built with multiplayer in mind. Whether you’re squadding up with friends or queuing solo, the game’s meant to be fun, competitive, and replayable.

The hype for this game is real. Even in beta, the game pulled in over 6,600 concurrent players on Steam. The community is already buzzing about it, and we’re still months away from the official launch.

Sloclap has already proven they know how to create tight, responsive, and satisfying combat mechanics. And it looks like they’re bringing that same energy into Rematch, just with cleats instead of fists. And yes, For Crossplay, Fingers crossed maybe we’ll get full crossplay by launch or shortly after.
