The First Descendant is visually stunning, fast-paced, and just plain fun to play. It’s a free-to-play third-person looter shooter where you take on the role of a Descendant, a hero with powerful abilities fighting to save humanity from an alien threat. The combat feels punchy, the boss battles are epic, and there’s a ton of gear and skills to experiment with. What I really love is how smooth it feels, especially when playing with friends thanks to the First Descendant crossplay and cross-progression. It’s shaping up to be a standout co-op experience.

If you’re even slightly into sci-fi shooters or looter-style RPGs, The First Descendant is probably already on your radar. I’ve been diving into it recently, and one of the things that instantly impressed me is how well it handles crossplay and cross-progression.

One thing that makes this system even better is how easy it is to squad up with your friends across platforms. Each player has a unique Player ID, a name plus four-digit code, and once you search for and add them, they stay in your friend list.

Here’s how it works:

  • Open the Social menu

  • Use Player Search to find your friend’s ID

  • Send a request and start playing together

Whether you’re teaming up for story missions or jumping into boss fights, the game makes sure there’s no friction in getting your squad together.

To make it work:

  • Your progress is now synced across devices
