When I first saw Tides of Annihilation ps5 during Sony’s State of Play in February 2025, I was instantly intrigued. There was something oddly beautiful about its eerie, twisted version of London mixed with Arthurian legend.It’s not every day a game blends myth and modern so seamlessly and actually pulls it off.

|A London Unlike Anything You’ve Seen

The game is set in a dark, reimagined version of London. The city feels alive, but in the worst possible way foggy, broken, and haunted. Imagine Big Ben wrapped in cursed mist or ghost-like creatures lurking in the shadows of Soho. You play as Gwendolyn, a lone survivor with a mission to find her missing family. She’s navigating through a city that feels like it’s come straight from a fever dream.

This isn’t your usual post-apocalyptic story. It feels more like someone pulled ancient magic into the middle of a modern city. And weirdly enough, it totally works.

Here’s where it gets really cool. Gwendolyn isn’t alone. She can summon ghostly versions of Arthurian knights to fight alongside her. And we’re not talking generic sidekicks; each knight has a different fighting style and special ability. From what we’ve seen, they’re not just there for show, they’re key to both combat and strategy.

It kind of reminds me of switching weapons in games like Devil May Cry, except your weapons are legendary ghost warriors. Wild.

It’s dark, it’s moody, and it doesn’t rely on medieval castles or elves. Instead, you get a fog-drenched London, ancient legends, and personal loss all mixed together.

The art style is stunning. Everything has a haunted, hand-painted feel, gritty but beautiful. And the story? It’s personal, emotional and It’s about grief, survival, and discovering who you are when the world falls apart.
