V Rising Crossplay: Here’s What You Need to Know

V Rising throws you into the role of a newly awakened vampire trying to survive and rebuild your power. You’ll hunt for blood, build your own castle, fight enemies, and explore a dark open world, either solo or with friends. It’s part survival, part action RPG, and totally addictive. With V Rising finally staking its claim on PlayStation 5, more players are getting drawn into the dark, gothic world of vampire survival. But there’s one big question on everyone’s mind: Is V Rising crossplay?

Can you play with your friends if they’re on a different platform, like PC or console? I wondered the same thing, so here’s what I found out.

|Is V Rising Crossplay?

Unfortunately, no, V Rising does not support crossplay between PC and PS5. If you’re on Steam, you can only team up with other PC players. If you’re playing on a PS5, you’re locked into that ecosystem.

That means if your gaming crew is split between platforms, you won’t be able to roam the vampire infested world together. And yeah, that’s kind of a bummer.

|Why Doesn’t V Rising Have Crossplay?

Stunlock Studios, the developers behind V Rising, have been focusing on making sure the game runs smoothly on each platform individually. Porting such a complex survival action RPG to PS5 wasn’t a small task, especially when you consider all the systems running under the hood private servers, PvP zones, crafting mechanics, real time combat, and castle building.

Crossplay is a whole extra level of complexity. It would require syncing multiplayer infrastructure between Sony’s network and PC servers, not to mention balancing the experience across both platforms. It’s not impossible, but it’s definitely a big lift.

|Will V Rising Get Crossplay in the Future?

Maybe. There’s no official word yet, but the devs haven’t ruled it out either. In fact, Stunlock has acknowledged that crossplay is one of the most requested features from the community.

They’ve been pretty good at listening to feedback so far, so if enough players ask for it (and if they can work out the tech behind it), it might be something we see in a future update. But for now, nothing’s confirmed.

|What Can You Do Instead?

If you’re dying to play with friends, you’ll need to make sure everyone is on the same platform either all on PC or all on PS5. The game supports online multiplayer, private servers, and co-op, so there’s still a lot of fun to be had as long as you’re in the same ecosystem.

And hey, even if you’re playing solo, V Rising is packed with things to do, crafting gear, building your castle, defeating V Blood bosses, and climbing your way to the top of the vampire food chain.

So, is V Rising crossplay? Not yet. But with the game gaining popularity on both PC and console, it’s possible the feature could arrive down the line. Until then, make sure your vampire squad sticks to the same platform if you want to rule the night together.

Whether you’re on PS5 or PC, V Rising has plenty of blood, strategy, and gothic chaos to keep you hooked.
